~ CUSTOM GICLEE PRINTS ~

Every one of my hand painted mounted limited edition Giclee's is a UNIQUE piece of art, and almost always mistaken for an original painting.

I make each one myself. I also pack them myself in custom mailing boxes, which I build.

I stretch the canvas prints on stretcher bars. I paint the edges with the same paint and colors I used on the original.
I then varnish each piece with a UV protectant 'semi-gloss/matte' custom mixture.

During this process I give each print my Tender Loving Care.

Each Giclee print is expected to last without any visible fading for 70 to 100 years depending upon handling.

I use an EPSON 7800™ professional printer which I have in my studio. These Prints are not mass produced.

The Giclee should be afforded the same level of care as an original piece of art.
They are valuable works, beautiful reproductions but costly to produce.

Each Giclee is an individual work of art.

A GICLEE print on canvas is your closest option to an original.
Giclee's can be printed directly onto canvas or fine art papers, and use a wide spectrum of color.
Giclee's have a higher resolution than offset lithographs and the dynamic color range is greater than serigraphy.

The French word "Giclee" means to spray or squirt.
The giclee process uses incredibly accurate computer controlled jets to apply ink to watercolor paper, canvas or other appropriate media.
These unique jets are able to vary the width of the ink stream to as small as 1/100th the width of human hair. It is this capability that gives the giclee its beauty.
These pigments, (the same material used to make artists oils & acrylics) are estimated to last without fading from 70 to 100 years.
The canvas used is specially formulated to absorb ULTRA-CHROME K3 pigments.
Using these pigmented inks will insure high color saturation, creating a brilliant product which will last many life times.

When you purchase or commission a painting, drawing or Limited Edition Mounted Giclee from me, you will receive a certificate of authenticity such as the one shown below. The title will be transferred into your name upon completion of our transaction. You will receive the certificate containing the identifying certificate number. This number is unique to your work of art. You will have access to the Fine Arts Registry website where you will find full details of the painting and a photograph of the piece. You will be the named owner of the painting on the certificate and at the website. There are many more details about this painting at the registration company. This is good for insurance purposes and establishing ownership and value*.

* Most insurance companies will not pay the current value but an amount closer to the cost of raw materials – unless you could prove the higher value. Yet the disaster that took your art could easily claim your receipts or other documentation as well. I register your fine art with National Fine Arts Title Registry and your asset records that document value and ownership remain safe and available from any computer. I pay to maintain that service every month. This will cost you nothing. Your online records will include a photo and supporting documents to permanently capture details for provenance, estate planning and asset statements.

The appraised value of your art will be shown on your certificate of ownership

How does one commission an Original painting from R.S. Connett? ... Easy!

When negotiating a commissioned work, I will have the you point out your favorite paintings here on my website. We will further discuss what it is you like in particular about the works you point out. This is usually done with E-MAIL so we can both have plenty of time to think about our communications.

After our dialog, (that can take as little or as long as we want it to), we arrive upon a plan for a painting that we are both excited about!

I have plenty of my own ideas that I want VERY MUCH to get funding for. Or, we can put our heads together on something that you and I both want. Some of my collectors give me free reign to make whatever is going on in my mind. Others have more solid ideas. I CAN work with you. As long as you are not a 'micro manager' or a 'megalomaniac' I can work with you to create something of extreme interest and unusual beauty that will last generations.

Painting custom paintings is my 'bread and butter' work. it's what I love the most, and how I maintain my life as an artist. The gratitude I feel for those of you who help me continue with my work can not be expressed with our limited language. I will do whatever it takes to make a painting that you will cherish for the rest of your life. I WILL NOT allow you to accept anything less.

I have explained the work I put into my print making. However, I am a CREATOR first and foremost! Any time away from my easel is depleting. I have hundreds of ideas for paintings in all sizes and shapes. My life's dedication is to make as many of them as I can before I can make no more.

I have some 'SPECIAL PROJECTS' in mind that will some day be stupendous paintings! For instance; 'HEAVEN ~ HELL ~ EARTH' which I want to make either as a triptych (3 paneled painting) or as one large canvas.

Another is 'MICROBIA MAXIMUS'; An evolution of my 'MICROBIA' series (RED, BLUE) painted on a canvas at least 36" x 36", (or larger).

Yet another project I am DIEING to paint is my idea of a huge canvas covered with WAR! I may call it 'METAPHORIC WAR'. It will be filled with the violent activity associated with war in a complex, densely detailed metaphoric landscape. This land and airscape will be filled with extremely intricate biological and machine forms! ...

These are paintings that I plan to do as soon as I can. If you will fund me, I will paint them for you! I have NO wish to keep my work, only to paint it!
