DEEP WATER FISH
1986 ... Water color on paper.  22" X 30"

BACK CONTINUE THE MUSEUM TOUR, ("LOST" Paintings Gallery) NEXT

As a child I dreamed of the strange creatures lurking in the black depths of the oceans. My father had a boat and we went fishing out past the Golden Gate Bridge every few weeks. The dark calm coves offered up no end of fanciful treats for my imagination. I've never seen fish weirder or more wonderful than the ones we caught in those days. This piece was a color experiment done at a time when I was attempting to teach myself watercolor.
