I sit and gaze out upon the city of Los Angeles. I am in my forested perch and watch and imagine. I imagine the jeweled city vaporized in an instant. I imagine the aftermath of one thermo nuke, the size of a baseball, smuggled in by a fanatic who would love to see the extinction of America. Could it happen? Fuck yes. Might it happen soon? Fuck yes! Might it happen tomorrow?

I imagine myself a temporary survivor. Being a few miles short of the blast zone. I might live a few days in sickness and anguish. All worldly things lost and gone forever. I might walk towards ground zero to sate my curiosity. I would die too but first I would see it. I would face the dead city of los Angeles before I die myself.
