This is a spontaneous painting which conjures thoughts of the practice of Tattoo and piercing. These acts have become popular and prevalent in our culture to the extent of them becoming more the norm than the exception. I respect many people who Tattoo their bodies and I’ve been honored by individuals who have chosen to use my images as Tattoos on their bodies. (In fact, I plan on creating designs specifically for tattoo)

However, I’m sometimes frustrated and disappointed to see the way many people treat these acts as a “FAD”. It’s like everyone “MUST” have a tattoo because “Everybody else has one!”. People should have more respect for your skin than that. I have no tattoos at this time. If I ever do, you better believe that I would consider very carefully what I would have done. It would have to mean a great deal to me. The same applies to piercing. Any body manipulation should be carefully considered and be looked upon as an important and meaningful act. If you place something on or in your body that is meaningless, it reflects a meaningless person.

This painting is sold. Prints are available.
