A rare “Figurative-abstract” painting, (for me)

I was at first interested in developing the background – then simply let other forms emerge in paint in the foreground. Eventually I saw that this was two automatons re-creating themselves. The penetration is a funny afterthought that developed as the painting evolved, but after I had already thought of the title. It seems to me that the smaller figure is both the female and the newly created machine. I get pleasure from it for its form, color and the absurdity in it.
