The "TRUSTING SOULS" are spirits from a place I visit which I call "THE STONY LONESOME". This painting is my second in a series on images from this place. The Stony Lonesome is my graveyard.

That's what my dead father used to call graveyards. Many a day, with a drink in his hand he would say, "Son, have some fun while you can cuz the Stony Lonesome is not so far away." He was right.

I live on an old forest covered mountain overlooking the burning lights of Los Angeles. This place was once a burial ground. Certainly many people have died here. I feel and see ghosts here. I have seen them in the dark silent nights in my forest. I like to walk there alone. They dart behind trees and hide. I hear them laughing and I hear them talking in strange languages. They speak in riddles.

Sometimes, late at night and alone in the woods, I can understand them. However, the last thing they tell me is always the samel. And that is "You will not remember until you are with us." The only time I have spoken with them face to face is when I have taken psilocybin*. I think that is a bridge to the dead.
