'Corpse Lovers'
1981 ... Water color and gouache on paper, 20" x 28"

We were a good looking young couple.

The feelings that we mistook for love were actually something more like an erotic form of twisted sexual vengeance. The more our hatred for the opposite sex manifested in our twisted relationship the more we tried to convince themselves that this had to be "true love". What else could it be? For the first time we actually FELT something for someone ... something strong and unfathomable ... and yet, something it was born dead.

This is a painting about a relationship gone terribly wrong. It is yet another representation of my love affair with Lisa between 1979 and 1981; (Also see The paintings 'LISA 1' and 'LISA2' and the drawing of 'LISA')

WE found ourselves sucked into a whirlpool of fictions, misery and sadism. Demonstrating our feelings of emptiness and numbness by inflicting pain, both physical and emotional. We sucked the life from one another and in the end there was nothing left but dreadful memories and dusty crying corpses.

Lisa may have a very different opinion of all this ... I would love to here it ... click here
