A very large Acrylic painting inspired by a statue of Satan on the Cross I saw in Mexico.

I don't know if I believe in the Devil ... but I guess there sure are a lot of you out there that do. And still more that act like Devils, a bunch of fucking assholes.

The Devil is an impressive figure. It's much "cooler" to identify with the devil today because outwardly the devil is a figure of strength. Evil represents strength in our society, goodness represents weakness. What's scarier, some big hairy guy with demonic symbols tattooed all over his body or some guy dressed up for Sunday mass with a Mickey Mouse bow tie?

I think people who like to be associated with evil and devils have some inferiority issues. Perhaps they use these strong symbols to hide their deep feelings of weakness, helplessness and inferiority? That has been my experience. I have know persons who adorn themselves with hideous representations of frightening figures and symbols. They enjoy the fear that they instill in the common people who see these symbols and perceive the person wearing them as some sort of threat. It makes them feel good to be feared because in truth, they are afraid.

If you were not afraid, why would you feel a need to hide behind some big scary facade? if you were inwardly confident about yourself why would you need to use smoke and mirrors to convince others that you are confident? It seems pretty simple ...

Why would you want to do the 'devils work'? What is the devils work anyway?

Maybe it's all the complete opposite of what seems obvious to most of us; that the Devil is actually a frightened shivering wimp hiding behind fear tactics.

Well, I like devil imagery a lot myself ... so ... HAIL SATAN MAN!
