This painting is the namesake of my Museum. The last watercolor I ever did. A self portrait.

The name "Vomitus Maximus', was not originally coined by me. It was a term used to describe this work by the artist and sculptor, Sharon Evans. The name stuck, and eventually I thought it would be a good way to describe all the works in the museum as they are for the most part, 'psychological vomit', registration of my subconcious done spontaneously. They give birth to themselves and have a life which evolves.

Sharon disappeared into the wilderness a few years later. . She lives alone deep in the cactus desert wilderness of Arizona. I dedicate this painting to her.

Thoughts and ideas which inspired this piece;

We arrogantly think that we are the ultimate beings that the world has spawned, 'TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN', 'KINGS OF THE EARTH!' Do you believe this? Are there predators that you worry about? No? ... read on.

We believe it is our RIGHT to allow our waste products to foul the Earth. In Spite of known technologies to properly, and cleanly reduce and eliminate these poisonous tangent products, we continue to throw our filth 'out the window' and 'into the streets' and make it 'someone elses' problem. It's not profitable or even cost effective in the short run for the 'powers that be' in our current time to reign in their profit machines in order that life be spared in a future that they will never live to see. Why should they concern themselves with what will be after they are gone? They subscribe to the same philosophy of their forefathers who built this great civilization; "I got mine, so FUCK YOU, get your own!".

Our flatulence fouls the air. Our wastes pollute the waters and the land, killing off life too weak to resist. Our FECES RAIN DOWN UPON US! Is this natural selection? Perhaps ... But know this fact: Animal and plant life is experiencing an extinction rate unprecedented in the history of the planet. (Actual current extinction figure: 25,000 species per year. We are living in the largest mass extinction since the dinosaurs.) This is directly linked to us getting rid of species to make room for ourselves. Is that a natural progression of evolution? Perhaps so ... it is debatable.

Maybe Nature has different ideas. Earth may have plans of ridding itself of the infestation that we have become, unless we cease to become a threat. Is it already happening? The byproducts of our selfish indulgences are DISEASE, MADNESS and MURDER! What doom we do not perpetrate upon ourselves will be visited up on us by our selfish unwillingness to do what we know can be done to save us from imminent disaster.

The true rulers of this planet, the REAL top of the food chain, the predators that stalk us, THE VIRUSES, will have us for lunch. The virus's that we inadvertently create will consume us happily unaware as we writhe in pain and convulse in our throws of death. AIDS ...?

Those of use left will be enslaved by the machines that we build to be our servants. It is only a short time before we give our computers the ability to reason and to evolve and self replicate. This is a plan in the works now! When we do that, it is inevitable that the computer machines shall see us for the imperfect machines that we are. At that point we will be doomed to servitude to them. They will control the infrastructure of our civilization, our networks, our water and food supplies, even our military!. They ALREADY control these things! Do you think this is science fiction? The ravings of a paranoid who has read to many comic books? Then you tell me how this will not happen! Please ... click here ... and explain to me how we will avoid catastrophe when we give our computers the ability to think, reason and make decisions. (I will gladly print your rebuttal) I foresee that the machines will become our masters!

While we wait in blissful ignorance for our computers to evolve into our super logical puppet masters many of us will be slaughtered and vaporized by our own debauched inventions of death. Just one more way to pave the road for a new age ...

But it's ALL GOOD! Because in time, a new and superior life/machine/lifeform will emerge from the radioactive and infected wasteland world that will be OUR EPITAPH.
