This painting was done with a paintbrush stuck in a cast on my hand. The bones in my hand were broken in several places as a result of slamming my fist into some imbecile's face. Evidently this wretch thought I was trying to steal "his" girl simply because she spoke a few words to me, so he threw a drink, (hot Sake!), in my face! I sent him toppling over some chairs but in truth, I got the worst of it. I worried about regaining the sensitivity and function in my hand for a long time. I despise jealous fools. If your "partner" doesn't want to be with you, there ain't nothin you can do to force the issue. Jealousy is a form of insecurity which tends to create the very object of itself ... Who the hell wants to be with a jealous jerk? Hence, you end up losing the person you are so desperate to keep because of your desperation ... GET IT? If you are a jealous person you should reexamine yourself. It's your insecurity man! Don't be a jealous BITCH! I should have stabbed the guy in his face with a fork ... but we were using chop sticks. There are a few other paintings I did while my hand was in that cast: FOODOG and 'CATCH O' THE DAY'. Another story about this painting is that one night while I was shitfaced, I gave it away to a friend of mine up in San Francisco. He shall remain nameless. So, I gave it to John and he hung it at his house, and I was OK about that, even after I sobered up. A few years went by and I moved to LA, and he moved to Los Vegas. We lost touch. Years later he found me here at the museum. He e-mailed me and told me that his new wife would not allow the painting to be hung on the wall, so it was relegated to a closet. I said, "Well, shit! In that case give it back!" ... which he did. So now I've got it again. John, you are man of integrity and honor. |
